Contract Type
An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced hospitality manager to oversee two sites in Newquay, Cornwall. No.5 Brewhouse is a craft beer-led bar, located in the centre of Newquay. Supported by a handmade, locally sourced burger menu and fine coffee, No.5 offers 70 covers in a stylish industrial-themed interior and sundeck with sea views. No.5 provides a busy breakfast service as well as a popular lunch and evening hangout. The Slope Beach Bar & Kitchen will be Newquay's most central beach bar when it opens in late May 2017. Based at Great Western Beach, The Slope will offer the same burger menu as its sister property plus a range of local keg and cask beers. With stunning views across Newquay bay and an authentic surf vibe, No.5 will sure to be a prime venue, day and night.

The role

The successful candidate will be tasked with creating a new team to work across both sites, who can create a welcoming and relaxed atmosphere and a superior standard of casual dining. As a seasonal resort, there will be a need to attract visiting holiday makers and build a strong local following in equal measure.

To excel in the role, a passion for delivering quality in a bar/restaurant environment will be essential; you will need to know the products and be comfortable to maintain No.5s position as one of Cornwall's leading beer venues. A new partnership with a renowned local brewery at The Slope will continue the need for excellent beer maintenance.

In addition to fantastic customer service and interpersonal skills, you will need a great eye for detail and be business-savvy. The role will combine a front of house presence and administrative duties. You will need to enjoy number-crunching and hitting targets as much as serving awesome food and drink and the buzz of the bar/restaurant environment.

You will have proven experience of operating a successful bar/restaurant business and be able to demonstrate the ability to work independently. As Operations Manager, you will be supported by a Marketing Manager and Accounts/Payroll Manager, but the day-to-day operation of the business and staff management will be tasked to yourself. You must be confident, creative, pro-active, and self-sufficient in order to fulfil the criteria of the role.
