PHYSICS LEAD SCHOOL COORDINATOR

GBP27,841 - GBP35,969 pro rata

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Institute of Physics (IOP) Lead School Coordinator based at Truro College, as part of the IOP's Stimulating Physics Network (SPN). This role will coordinate, promote and deliver activities of the Stimulating Physics Network at a local and regional level, as well as working with partner schools to develop their physics provision. We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to continue to develop a strong and effective network of contacts across the South West's education system (predominantly Cornwall and Devon). The successful applicant will be responsible for running teacher CPD and pupil engagement activities at nearby SPN partner schools, leading regular Physics CPD at the Lead School, coordinating local network activities (supported by the IOP's head office) and also engaging in outreach. The successful candidate will have an excellent knowledge of physics, experience of leading CPD events or projects and a thorough understanding of the UK education system. They will also have good communication, team working and organisational skills, plus the ability to work independently when required. Additionally, there may be an opportunity for flexible A Level Physics teaching in addition to this exciting role.
