We currently have a vacancy for a: Digital Assistant (Grade 2)

This is a full-time permanent position.  Hours of work will be 40 hours (8 hours per day), Monday – Friday, Double Day Shift working between the core hours of 06:00 – 22:00.  To be successful in this role you will have the ability to learn quickly and have a fully flexible approach to your work to ensure production requirements are met.

Applicants will need:

  • Ideally you will have previous knowledge/experience of manufacturing processes
  • Able to work in a high speed deadline driven environment
  • High attention to detail
  • The ability to understand safe systems of work
  • Health and safety awareness
  • Experience working with industry standard systems and processes (ISO 9001, 14001, 1800, 27001)

Duties will include (but are not limited to):

  • Running the printing presses at maximum run speeds
  • Perform quality checks to minimise non-conformances and ensure no defect is passed forward
  • Supplying completed jobs ready for further processing in the correct condition for folding and producing book blocks
  • Reporting all faults/problems and ensuring equipment is kept in good working order
  • Ensuring maintenance of presses is carried out according to manufacturer’s recommendations as scheduled
  • Promote, maintain and improve high standards of housekeeping
  • Ensure all production problems are communicated effectively to the relevant staff, and forwarded to the Digital Performance Manager
  • Ensuring a thorough and efficient handover to subsequent shifts with minimum downtime
  • Ensure shift output and materials usage is accurately logged via shop floor data collection stations
  • Carry out daily checks and any other reasonable requested activities/shifts
  • Positively contribute to departmental and team meetings
  • Actively work on objectives and development plans
  • Work towards continual improvement at all times
  • Have a flexible attitude to working hours to meet business demands
