Red Balloon of the Air is an award-winning charity that operates a leading-edge virtual learner centre. We offer academic, wellbeing and community support to transform the lives of students (aged 9-18 years) who want to learn but have had low rates of attendance at school due to high anxiety, severe bullying, trauma or chronic stress. Our programme comprises online and face-to-face support to build confidence and reconnect students with learning and their education. Students are typically referred to us by their school, mental health services or local authority.

We seek an experienced therapist / counsellor to cover maternity leave to deliver therapeutic wellbeing sessions online with a core group of students and to build, where appropriate, relationships with their families and the professionals supporting the student to enable them to participate fully in the social community of Red Balloon as part of their recovery.  The role requires creativity, flexibility and commitment as RBAir provision develops to meet the needs of more young people.
