Statutory Compliance Manager
Statutory Compliance Manager required to join a leading South West Facilities company to lead the statutory compliance function within Facilities Management. Girling Jones require a Statutory Compliance Manager to liaise with the Head of Hard Services and Senior Managers to provide a safe working environment, support documentation, record keeping, monitoring and statutory compliance services to all customers. Your New Position Reporting to the Operations Director, as Statutory Compliance Manager you will act as lead competent person (in accordance with Regulation 7 of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999) and CDM Regulations 2015 to assist in ensuring compliance with all legislative regulations including SFG20 and HTM. - Ensure all planned maintenance is carried out to all contract obligations within legislation and industry guidelines e.g. SFG20 and/or HTM - Working with the Reactive and Minor Works Manager to quote, organise, inspect and implement all remedial work arising from statutory inspections - Conduct periodic internal reviews or audits to ensure that compliance procedures are followed. - Provide monthly performance reports to our customers demonstrating compliance against specification and KPI's and identify compliance issues that require follow-up or investigation. - Prepare management reports regarding compliance operations and progress, disseminate written policies and procedures and maintain documentary evidence of compliance activities ensuring the customer receives all relevant information in a timely manner. - Manage Consultant and Contractor registration membership to appropriate bodies such as NICEIC, Asbestos and DDA bodies to ensure they remain active and current at all times. - Develop and manage compliance programmes that ensure all relevant legislation is met. Record the results of all programmes in a method to provide reports on performance, using the results to highlight, detect and prevent non-compliance issues. - Monitor and review third party reports and assessments (e.g. Fire Risk Assessments and Asbestos Surveys) in consultation with customers to assess and prioritise any recommendations, ensuring actions are put in place to resolve any issues and costed accordingly. - Provide employee training on compliance related topics, policies, or procedures. - Provide assistance to internal or external auditors in compliance reviews. - Keep informed regarding pending industry changes, trends, and best practices and assess the potential impact of these changes on organisational processes. - Drive and promote a positive safety culture within portfolio including subcontractors and suppliers utilising our SHEQ Team where appropriate - Ensure that allocated resources deliver work to meet duration and quality targets, addressing and ensuring the correction of under-performance issues. - Determine the appropriate levels of labour, materials and plant required to undertake each contract in the most efficient and economic manner and meet agreed profit targets What you'll need to succeed - Proven experience within a similar role - Excellent planning and organisational ability with an analytical, financial and numerate approach - Demonstrable experience in subcontractor management essential - Line management experience with a high level of motivation, energy, drive and enthusiasm - Excellent knowledge and application of H&S and Environmental matters - Detailed understanding of relevant regulations, legislation and standards - Decision making in a timely manner based on facts and sound rationale - Highly literate and experienced with IT - Expert at interacting with clients and stakeholders at a senior level - Excellent level of interpersonal and people management skills and attributes Qualifications - HND/HNC or equivalent within an engineering discipline - NEBOSH and/or IOSH - Membership of a relevant professional institution (e.g. BIFM) - L8 Legionella Awareness or equivalent - Asbestos Awareness - Fire and Safety Testing Experience What you'll get in return In return a market leading salary plus package The next step?
